When Chicago Fire returns, so will some familiar faces. Here are the guest stars we’re hoping to see in the rest of Chicago Fire season 7.

New Chicago Fire episodes start next month, and when the show returns One Chicago fans will be seeing plenty of guest stars and recurring characters.

These are the characters who help flesh out the show’s universe, and there are many of them who have appeared over the program’s history. Not just from this season, but from seasons past, there are plenty of characters—and a few who would make the current season even better if they were to come back.

These are the recurring characters and guest stars from Chicago Fire whom we’d like to have pop up again sometime this season. Check out our picks below, then let us know who you would want to see return in the comments at the end of the article.

Here’s our wish list of guest stars:

3) Katie Nolan

The silver lining of Chicago Fire‘s decision to kill off Kelly Severide’s (Taylor Kinney) father was that the show brought back his half-sister.

Katie Nolan (Brittany Curran) hadn’t been seen in years, since she was attacked and then left town to move to Colorado. But when she resurfaced, it felt just like old times, whether it was her scenes with Kelly or her adorable interactions with her former boyfriend Otis (Yuri Sardarov).

More of that would be welcome this season. The seventh season has made it glaring how Severide’s only female confidant is Stella (and even shot down a possible Foster friendship). He should have another female character to turn to, especially when some of his problems involve Stella—when last we saw them, they were taking some time apart.

With Katie in Colorado, and Brittany Curran now a cast member on The Magicians, she couldn’t be around often. But another episode to check up on her half-brother, or even a phone call between the two, would be nice.

2) Christie Casey

Speaking of family members, whatever happened to Matthew Casey’s (Jesse Spencer) sister? Christie Casey (Nicole Forester) hasn’t been seen on the show since all the way back in season 3, when Casey helped deal with her nefarious now ex-husband.

Given everything that Chicago Fire has put Casey through since then, it feels kind of odd that his sister wouldn’t show up at least once just to see how he’s doing. The current cliffhanger will be the second time he’s been in a life-threatening fire in three seasons. Plus, he’s just been through a divorce.

This would seem like the perfect time for Christie and her daughter Violet to make a visit. We’ve just seen a lot of Severide’s family, so why not Casey’s? And Christie could talk with her brother about what it’s like to go through a divorce, since she did it first. But in general, it’d just be good to be reminded that Casey has a family outside the firehouse.

1) Carl Grissom

It’s been a glaring omission that Carl Grissom (Gary Cole) hasn’t been seen in Chicago Fire season 7. The whole subplot of the season has been his reign as fire commissioner, with his henchman, er deputy Jerry Gorsch (Steven Boyer) upending Firehouse 51.

Grissom wasn’t seen at the funeral of Benny Severide, despite being good friends with Benny. And he wasn’t even there when Chief Boden (Eamonn Walker) went directly to his office.

There’s a good reason for that, though, and it wasn’t in the show’s control; as Derek Haas revealed in our recent interview, actor Gary Cole has been working on other projects and wasn’t available. There’s nothing One Chicago could do about that, but it also doesn’t negate the fact that Grissom’s absence has gotten really obvious. He needs to be here at least once or twice to move the season forward.

Luckily for us, Haas also confirmed that Grissom will be returning a few episodes into the second half of the season.
