One Chicago ratings report: Week of January 9
Chicago Fire, Chicago Med and Chicago PD ratings are in for the latest episodes. Here’s the Jan. 9 edition of the One Chicago Ratings Report.
With another week of the One Chicago season in the books, it’s time to take another look at the franchise’s TV ratings with the One Chicago Ratings Report.
After taking roughly a month off for the December holidays, One Chicago returned this week with three midseason premieres that all featured the resolution to a cliffhanger. They did their job, as more viewers tuned in to see what happened next.
At 8 p.m. Chicago Med drew in 8.64 million live viewers. That’s a more than 500,000 increase from the 8.13 million who watched the previous Dec. 5 episode live.
It’s also worth noting that’s the second consecutive time that Chicago Med has picked up at least a half million more viewers; it experienced an even bigger increase between the Nov. 14 and Dec. 5 episodes.

Chicago Fire returned at 9 p.m. with an audience of 8.08 million people watching live. That’s a slight lift from its previous figure of 7.91 million.
Then 6.91 million people tuned in at 10 p.m. for the midseason premiere of Chicago PD. That, too, is a smaller lift from its last benchmark of 6.82 million.
That means all three One Chicago shows were able to pick up viewers in their returns, though Chicago Med was the clear winner with more than double the new viewers of the other two series.

But it’s not all good news. There’s also something else that’s changed since December and is worth keeping an eye on.
The franchise is holding steady in total viewers, ranking first, second and fourth on Wednesday nights respectively (Med, Fire and PD). However, NBC is no longer the most popular network in the adults 18-49 demographic.
The reality TV sensation The Masked Singer has made FOX the most-watched network in that group. The show has a whopping 2.3 share among the 18-49 adults; no other Wednesday show has more than a 1.3.
Airing at 9 p.m., the series is going directly against Chicago Fire, and has more than 7 million people watching so it’ll be worth waiting to see how that affects Fire and also affects the brand’s overall performance. While our numbers are still strong, there’s definitely now viable competition, too.
