What should fans watch for in tonight’s Chicago Med? Get ready for Tell Me The Truth with our Chicago Med season 4, episode 18 preview.

This week’s Chicago Med seems like it’s going to be more about the drama than the medicine, but it could also resolve some of the longstanding questions that One Chicago fans have had, too.

“Tell Me The Truth” features a main storyline that feels like it’d be more appropriate on Chicago PD, with Dr. Connor Rhodes (Colin Donnell) being pulled out of surgery for an emergency phone call.

If you’ve watched the promo, he talks about getting the caller “the money,” which makes it sound like some sort of blackmail or hostage situation. But what on Earth for? Connor isn’t into anything shady, unless this once again involves his dad.

If so, that would just compound the existing storyline that’s run through Chicago Med season 4, with Cornelius Rhodes (recurring guest star D.W. Moffett) gaining a spot on the hospital board and accusing Connor’s ex-girlfriend of sleeping with him.

It’s actually been nice to see Connor get back to cases and not having to deal with personal issues, so here’s to hoping whatever problem this is, it doesn’t pull him back into the drama that he seemed to have mostly gotten out of.

The “B” story isn’t much better. Dr. Will Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) treats an FBI agent, and given that the show has only ever mentioned one of them, it’s a safe bet that the patient will be somehow connected to Ingrid Lee (recurring guest star Anna Enger).

While she’s not the patient herself, based on the photos that NBC has released for this episode, it’d be a very odd world if the show spent multiple episodes involving Will in an FBI investigation and then had a random, completely unrelated subplot about another FBI agent.

At the same time, that FBI storyline has likewise gone on for most of the season, and that didn’t really fit into the show either. So if Chicago Med is going to that well again, what will it be for? Or could this be the inciting incident that helps Will finally get over all of his issues that viewers have been hearing so much about since the midseason premiere?

One big plus for “Tell Me The Truth” is that the character pairings, which we’ve discussed a few times this season, are finally getting shaken up. Watch a sneak peek by playing the video below, as Dr. Natalie Manning (Torrey DeVitto) will be working with someone other than Will this week.
