What should fans watch for in tonight’s Chicago Med? Get ready for Forever Hold Your Peace with our Chicago Med season 4, episode 21 preview.

This week’s Chicago Med is preparing fans for the season finale, and picking up the pieces from last week’s frustrating episode—so how is it all going to come together?

Wednesday’s episode is called “Forever Hold Your Peace,” as in the “speak now or forever hold your peace” line used at wedding ceremonies. It’s worth remembering that the show’s producers already told us there’s going to be a wedding in one of these next two episodes.

But right now, there aren’t any couples actually together to get married!

The only one even close enough to think about it would be Dr. Daniel Charles (Oliver Platt) and his ex-wife Caroline (recurring guest star Paula Newsome), since Charles is so clearly still in love with her. And at least that would give him a significant storyline; he hasn’t had as much to do since Dr. Sarah Reese (Rachel DiPillo) left.

Speaking of leaving, it sounds like at least one person will be doing that in this episode. The official synopsis says that Dr. Connor Rhodes (Colin Donnell) is about to suffer a “devastating loss.”

It feels fairly obvious that it’s going to be the death of his father, since the last two episodes have been including Cornelius’ health problems. There’s not anything else in Connor’s storylines recently that could be described as potentially “devastating.”

But if the show does go that route, it’s going to feel a bit overdone—remember this is the same series that killed off Pat Halstead earlier this season.

Then there’s a “challenge” coming for Dr. Ethan Choi (Brian Tee) and April Sexton (Yaya DaCosta), who have spent way too much time dealing with his sister, her married boyfriend, and the couple’s baby. If the plot in this episode is related to that, it couldn’t get much more dramatic—unless Emily (recurring guest star Arden Cho) decided to leave the baby with April permanently!

If it doesn’t, could these two finally re-evaluate their romantic status? They’ve been broken up yet clearly not over one another all season, and haven’t taken that obvious step toward getting back together. But that would be more of a good thing than a challenge, wouldn’t it?

However all of this unfolds, this Chicago Med episode sounds like it’s going to be very complicated. Watch a sneak peek by playing the video above, then tune in tonight for the full episode.
