Chicago Fire season 7 finale predictions
What’s going to happen in the Chicago Fire season finale? Check out our predictions for Wednesday’s last episode of Chicago Fire season 7.
The Chicago Fire season finale is less than a week away, with One Chicago fans already anxious about how the episode will conclude its cliffhanger—and a season that’s seen a few changes at Firehouse 51.
Wednesday’s installment will be the third episode to deal with a serial arsonist who is once again burning down buildings in Chicago, with Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney) trying to stop her and wrap up a case his father never got to finish.
And because this is Chicago Fire, it’s entirely possible that the episode, and the season, will end on another cliffhanger leaving viewers in suspense for the next four months!
See our predictions for the season finale below, then tune in to the episode Wednesday to find out what happens.

1) Stellaride will have an emotional moment
Severide is front and center going into the Chicago Fire season finale, as he works to close the arson case that eluded his father. That would be an easy opportunity for the Stellaride moment that the show has been building toward.
Though they haven’t been a couple for months now, the series has also been very clear that Severide and Stella Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo) still have feelings for each other. What was Stella going to say to Kelly last week before Captain Hubble showed up, anyway?
Stella helping Severide out with this important case, or Severide having a vulnerable moment as he closes the book on something his father worked really hard on, is the perfect setup for some kind of Stellaride scene that either gets them back together again or leaves shippers waiting for season 8.

2) Brett will choose between Casey and Kyle
“I’m Not Leaving You” will almost certainly include Sylvie Brett (Kara Killmer) making a decision on her romantic life, and Chicago Fire fans already can make an educated guess on who she’ll choose.
The series has been openly moving towards a romantic relationship between Brett and Matthew Casey (Jesse Spencer), including one of Brett’s friends telling her that she should be dating him. At the same time, anyone who watches TV often enough knows that the writers didn’t bring back Brett’s ex-boyfriend Kyle Sheffield (Teddy Sears) just to help with last week’s peer support story.
It will not be a shocker when Kyle says he wants to rekindle things with Brett, and even less of a surprise when she ultimately turns him down to pursue something new with Casey.
3) The episode will end on a cliffhanger
The whole One Chicago franchise enjoys cliffhanger endings; last season, all three shows had at least one cliffhanger. But of the three, Chicago Fire goes to that device the most often. Season 6 had three of them (one owing to the break for the Olympics), and this season already had another with Casey’s apartment burning down.
Derek Haas and his writing staff have developed a clear knack for leaving viewers in suspense, so be prepared if this season also ends with a major unresolved question. Bonus points if the query is whether or not someone lives or dies, since many of said open endings have involved somebody in a life-threatening situation. Hopefully it’s not Matthew Casey, who seems to be a magnet for that sort of thing!
