Chicago Med season 5 could add these actors
By Kari Highman
Laurie Holden
The Walking Dead actress Laurie Holden was supposed to be in the original cast for Chicago Med, but dropped out before the series premiere due to family obligations. She was hired to portray Dr. Hannah Tramble, and appeared in the backdoor pilot that aired as an episode of Chicago Fire. Hannah was one of the doctors who operated on Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney) after a bomb detonated at the hospital.
It was a shame we didn’t see Hannah after that and get to find out her full potential, because Holden left a lasting impression during that one appearance. Considering how powerful her work was in the Fire episode, fans probably would have been impressed with Dr. Tramble. If she could perform emergency surgery at the drop of a hat, it would have been amazing to have seen her save countless more lives with similar valiant efforts—so why not bring her back now when the opportunity is available again?
There are several story possibilities here. Unless they have the entirety of Chicago Fire committed to memory, most fans likely wouldn’t recognize her character. Dr. Tramble could be written into Med as a new doctor, literally re-introducing her to viewers, or maybe she just transferred back from a different hospital.
She could have to come back to due to one of her many life-saving attempts going sideways. Then viewers would have the opportunity to learn more about Hannah’s past, and see how that could impact her future. But however the story shakes out, it’d be great to see an actor who ended up not making it into One Chicago, finding their way back in Chicago Med season 5.
