What should fans look for in this week’s episode of Chicago Med? Get ready for “Guess It Doesn’t Matter Anymore” with our Chicago Med season 5, episode 10 preview.

Tonight’s episode of Chicago Med will throw all of our favorite doctors off their game this week as personal problems take over their lives.

“Guess It Doesn’t Matter Anymore” gives Dr. Will Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) a blast from his past; while Chexton – aka: Ethan Choi (Brian Tee) and April Sexton (Yaya DaCosta) – is on the rocks after April’s indiscretion.

NBC’s official episode description reads: “Dr. Halstead’s world is thrown into turmoil when a former patient resurfaces; April has a secret she considers confessing to Ethan; Dr. Charles tries to maintain his focus during a difficult time.”

That former patient of Will’s is a woman he treated a few years ago. In tonight’s episode, though, it appears her character may be a surprise for Halstead. And what affects Will somehow seems to affect Natalie Manning (Torrey DeVitto) too, so will it spell trouble for Manstead?

As far as Chexton goes? That’s a tough one, as April will have the weight of her kiss with Dr. Crockett Marcel (Dominic Rains) on her mind, just as Ethan returns from deployment. The promo shows the two in a happy embrace, but will they remain that way? At least April will have her brother Noah (Roland Buck III) to keep her distracted, as judging by the promo photos, they will be working alongside one another in the ER.

She’s not the only one to have a lot on their mind this week. Dr. Daniel Charles (Oliver Platt) is still dealing with his wife, Caroline’s (recurring guest star Paula Newsome) terminal cancer. The end was near for Caroline during the midseason finale, and they were scheduled to go spend a weekend away.

Considering there will more than likely be a time jump when Med returns, we’re left to wonder if fans will not actually see her passing onscreen. If it is done offscreen, then we will see Daniel deal with the aftermath of his wife’s death. Even though he is well versed in the stages of grief, it’s a whole different story when it’s his own life.
