Chicago Med season 5, episode 11 photos: The Ground Shifts Beneath Us

NBC has released the official photos for season 5, episode 11 of Chicago Med, and it looks like everyone’s favorite doctors and nurses are running around the hospital trying to tend to multiple patients.
The January 15 episode, “The Ground Shifts Beneath Us,” features a tragic accident that puts one of their own in danger. There’s not one character as a central focus this episode, which is refreshing given that the last two episodes revolved mainly around Manstead.
In the promotional trailer, quite a few main cast members are featured, including: Maggie Lockwood (Marlyne Barrett), Ethan Choi (Brian Tee), along with Dr. Will Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss), and Dr. Daniel Charles (Oliver Platt).
Dr. Crockett Marcel (Dominic Rains), and April Sexton’s (Yaya DaCosta) brother, Noah (Roland Buck III) are also featured in the promo and photos for this week’s episode. The medical team appears to be rushing around the ER, examining multiple victims of a plane crash.
While the promotional photos don’t specifically show their victims, according to the trailer, one of their own could be among them. It’s implied that Dr. Samuel Abrams (Brennan Brown), the Head of Neurology at Chicago’s Gaffney Medical Center, is one of the people pulled from the wreckage.
The photos reveal a lot of shocked faces, but what they also show is Gwen Garrett (Heather Hadley), as she makes an appearance on this week’s episode. If you recall, Gwen is the Chief Operating Officer at the hospital, so if she’s coming to talk to one of the doctors, it could mean a variety of things.
The official episode description says that Natalie Manning (Torrey DeVitto) and Sharon Goodwin (S. Epatha Merkerson) become concerned for Gwen, so perhaps they will be the ones to talk to her, instead of the other way around. Gwen appears to be a little off-put in the promotional photos; hopefully that won’t throw Sharon or Natalie off their game too much, as this episode of Med will require all hands on deck.
