Chicago Med’s 100th episode promises several major reveals for April Sexton and Ethan Choi. What will this milestone hour mean for Chexton and their fans?

Dr. Ethan Choi (Brian Tee) and April Sexton (Yaya DaCosta) will be heavily featured in Chicago Med‘s 100th episode tonight—but will that be good or bad for Chexton and the future they’ve been planning.

Choi and April once appeared to be a relatively stable couple, but Chicago Med season 5 has turned their relationship into a house of cards. Part of that is due to April’s indiscretion during the midseason finale, when she kissed Dr. Crockett Marcel (Dominic Rains).  Several episodes later and she still has not told Choi about it.

Chicago Med has been very selective when dropping hints about April’s mistake, but it dropped a big one during the most recent episode, “Who Should Be the Judge.” It was in that episode that April said something quite telling: “Guess sometimes the truth is more painful.”

While she was referring to a case that she and Ethan had just finished working, to the viewers watching at home, that line could be seen as her guilty conscience talking.

Now in the 100th episode, it appears as though April’s cheating may finally come to Choi’s attention, as the official synopsis states that “secrets are revealed.” April is the character carrying the biggest secret, and the episode’s promo shows Ethan with tears streaming down his face. Who wouldn’t be upset to find out your fiancé kissed someone else?

As if that’s not enough, Chicago Med has given fans more evidence that Marcel could once again get in the way, as he and Choi are paired up on one of the cases during this episode.

Could Crockett, either accidentally or intentionally, tell Choi what April hasn’t? He’s been known to be quite a talker, so it could come out either as a slip or maybe in the heat of an argument. Or will Choi have to work with Crockett after learning the truth?

Andd however it comes out, what would this all but assured reveal mean for April and Ethan going forward?

If April’s kiss with Crockett is revealed to Ethan, he might not want anything to do with her by the time the episode ends. Remember that this is a couple that’s already broken up once, and that April kissed Crockett after Ethan decided to leave early for his military deployment because of tensions in their relationship.

But with all that’s at stake for Choi and April right now—a pending second round of in vitro fertilization, an engagement, their living together—there could be too much happening for him to walk away this time.

Chicago Med may not even give him a choice, since April will be in medical trouble during “The Ghosts of the Past.” She’s in a lot of pain, and the promotional photos show her being consulted by Dr. Hannah Asher (recurring guest star Jessy Schram), who is an OB/GYN, so it may be related to her IVF treatments.

April was told that the first round of IVF didn’t take, so what could the issue potentially be? Will there be some complication that would prevent her from going through the process again? We’re talking about a show that loves to add tragic twists to relationships, and this certainly looks like one.

Maybe that’s why April’s been so hesitant to tell Ethan about the kiss she shared with Crockett. She’s invested so much into their relationship that, like anyone, she doesn’t want to see it end. If you add in potential danger to their prospective family, after she had already miscarried a prior baby with her previous fiancee, there’s even more that she stands to lose.

April and Choi have gone back and forth for what seems like forever on if they were going to start a family. It took them a long time to get on the same page about that, and April knows how much Choi wants to be a father. Her secret, as well as anything that comes out of her medical crisis, may shatter their relationship.

Based on everything we know about Chicago Med‘s 100th episode, Chexton fans should brace themselves for at least one big blow to their favorite couple. Hopefully they’ll stay together by the end of it, but they certainly won’t be the same by the time it’s over. The question is just how much damage will be done.
