Tonight’s episode of Chicago Med is very special—it’s the series’ 100th episode, which means that all three of Dick Wolf’s One Chicago series have now hit the historic milestone.
With that in mind, we expect that “The Ghosts Of The Past” will deliver the dramatic turns and surprising twists that fans know and love about Chicago Med.
Tonight’s episode will see April Sexton (Yaya DaCosta) and Dr. Ethan Choi (Brian Tee) go through some trauma, as April takes a spill at the hospital thanks to a mysterious pain.

If that wasn’t enough for Chexton enthusiasts, according to the episode’s synopsis, relationships at the hospital will be tested when “secrets are revealed.” Could those words be alluding to April’s kiss with Dr. Crockett Marcel (Dominic Rains) earlier in the season?
If Choi does find out, it will cause strain in his and April’s relationship, as they’ve been making major steps toward starting a life and a family together—but both of those things would be hard to do if you no longer trust your significant other!

This episode shouldn’t be all doom and gloom though. Chicago Med does have one couple that appears to be cementing their future together—Maggie Lockwood (Marlyne Barrett) and her fiancé Ben (guest star Charles Malik Whitfield). The two got spontaneously engaged at the end of “Who Should Be The Judge” after Maggie found out she was in remission from cancer.
Now that both she and Ben have a clean bill of health, they don’t appear to be wasting much time in an already fast-moved relationship. The promo also showed Maggie in a white dress walking down an aisle with Ben, who was dressed in a traditional tuxedo. Hopefully that means a happily ever after for the duo…but keep in mind that the last attempted wedding on this show did not go well at all.
Speaking of things not going well—and people who were in that attempted wedding—”The Ghosts of the Past” is also serving up more of Dr. Will Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) and Dr. Hannah Asher (recurring guest star Jessy Schram). The two have been up and down through the last few episodes, but they may just turn a corner this week.
Asher is returning from rehab, so is Will seriously going to pursue a romantic relationship with her? They did sleep together, but that didn’t end well when he turned her in for prescription drug abuse. That would put a damper on any relationship, but it did seem like Asher finally got the hint when she checked herself into rehab.
And whatever happens between them, how will that affect Will’s ex-fiancee Dr. Natalie Manning (Torrey DeVitto)? Because it probably will.
That’s an awful lot of relationships up in the air, which is what Chicago Med has been focused heavily on this season. Who will stay together and who could fall apart? And that’s before going into any cases of the week or possible nods back to the last 99 episodes! Fans will have a lot to talk about when “The Ghosts Of The Past” airs tonight at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on NBC.
