What’s happening in this week’s Chicago Med episode? Find out about “In the Name of Love” with the Chicago Med season 5, episode 18 synopsis and teaser.

The next all-new episode of Chicago Med will pit two doctors against one another over a controversial operation with potentially dangerous results.

According to the synopsis and promo that NBC has released, Wednesday’s installment, “In the Name of Love” has Dr. Natalie Manning (Torrey DeVitto) and Dr. Crockett Marcel (Dominic Rains) disagree over how to proceed with a patient’s surgery.

It’s an interesting shift in their dynamic, especially since a couple of episodes ago, they were working together to stay alive during a kidnapping. Not to mention, last week’s 100th episode, “The Ghosts of the Past,” had Natalie tell Crockett that she, “thought he was a good guy.”

Of course, he did honestly reply: “Whatever gave you that idea?” His answer implies that his actions haven’t exactly been the best – he did kiss April Sexton (Yaya DaCosta) remember – but it also brings to mind his signature charm, as Natalie let his remark roll off her shoulder.

But, back to the current episode at hand. The promo for this week’s Chicago Med features Natalie being concerned about Crockett’s cocky attitude, even leading all the way up until the supposed procedure.

What’s interesting is that in a “blink and you’ll miss it” moment, you see a flash of red hair, which belongs to Dr. Will Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss). He’s running towards something, but whether or not that’s to assist Natalie and Crockett is unclear.

Besides, Will has been infatuated with Dr. Hannah Asher (recurring guest star Jessy Schram) over these last few episodes. He even brought her as his date to Maggie Lockwood’s (Marlyne Barrett) wedding. Perhaps he’s still watching her closely to make sure her rehab stint really sticks.

Here’s how NBC officially describes the episode:

"Dr. Charles and Goodwin fear Dr. Halstead is repeating his past mistakes when a patient with early onset Alzheimer’s is brought into the E.D.; Maggie and Ben are concerned when one of Ben’s students is admitted; Dr. Manning and Dr. Marcel disagree."
