Former Chicago Fire star Monica Raymund is directing the upcoming Chicago PD and FBI crossover episode featuring Tracy Spiridakos.

Tomorrow’s Chicago PD and FBI crossover episode will also involve Chicago Fire, because former Fire star Monica Raymund directed it.

Raymund, who portrayed Gabriela Dawson in six seasons of Chicago Fire, is behind the camera for the crossover episode “Emotional Rescue.” It’s her second FBI episode as director; she helmed the episode “Payback” earlier this season.

She is also a graduate of NBC‘s directing program Female Forward and directed a prior episode of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.

But her next directing credit is particularly notable since it has a direct connection to the One Chicago franchise that Raymund helped put on the map.

Fans will certainly get a kick out of having more than one Chicago series represented during the crossover episode; Chicago PD star Tracy Spiridakos is bringing her Hailey Upton character to the CBS series during this event.

This isn’t the first time Raymund and Spiridakos have worked on the same episode of TV; both actresses were involved in a Chicago Fire and Chicago PD two-part crossover in 2018. Spiridakos had scenes during the Chicago Fire portion, while Raymund was one of the Fire stars who crossed over onto Chicago PD.

But this is the first time that Monica Raymund has directed Tracy Spiridakos, so it’ll be fun to see how the two mesh together in that capacity. Raymund already knows her way around FBI, so she was probably the perfect person to direct this crossover episode.

It’s not the only big news for her; last week Starz dropped the first trailer for Raymund’s upcoming TV series Hightown, which you can watch by clicking the banner below. Raymund stars in the new drama as Jackie Quinones, a federal officer who’s struggling with both her sobriety and her desire to catch a killer in Cape Cod.

The show is expected to premiere later in 2020 and is the actress’s first starring role in a TV series since exiting Chicago Fire. She has, however, indicated that she’d be open to returning as Dawson for a third guest appearance; she’s already revisited the show twice.
