Colin Donnell’s latest big-screen venture, the romantic comedy Almost Love, is available to rent or download on iTunes starting April 3.

If you’ve been missing Colin Donnell, the former Chicago Med star’s movie Almost Love will be available on iTunes for fans to rent or own digitally beginning on Friday, April 3. You can pre-order the movie here.

It will also be streaming on Apple TV (which requires a separate subscription, although new users can sign up for a 7-day free trial).

One Chicago fans may remember the film when it was originally titled Sell By and made the film festival rounds last summer. “I was really excited to get in and be a part of it,” Colin told us in our interview before the movie’s OutFest premiere.

Written and directed by Mike Doyle, the film centers on Adam and Marklin (played by Augustus Prew and Scott Evans) who find out that their long-term romance is beginning to lose its spark.

More from Colin Donnell

While the duo try to keep their relationship from falling apart, their close-knit group of quirky friends—including Colin’s character Henry—are all busy just trying to find love to begin with.

“What’s wonderful about it is that at its heart, it’s just a movie about relationships and they’re all so relatable,” Colin said of why he loves the movie.

“It’s wonderful to see representation on-screen, but it’s ultimately just a relatable movie about relationships and friendships that happens to be centered around a relationship between two men, and happens to be written and directed by a man who is gay himself.”

Almost Love is Colin’s first movie to be released since his departure from Chicago Med, although he shot the movie between seasons when he was still playing Dr. Connor Rhodes. The cast also includes Michelle Buteau and Private Practice star Kate Walsh. Check out the trailer:

If you’re looking for something more light-hearted than the One Chicago series and something that will make you laugh, this indie film is definitely worth a watch. Audiences will see the comedic side of Colin that didn’t get utilized too often in One Chicago, and it’s something that you can enjoy without having to do anything more than click a button.
