Peacock review: Should One Chicago fans get NBC’s streaming service?
One Chicago fans will be surprised by NBC’s streaming service Peacock.
NBC launched its streaming service Peacock on Wednesday—but if you’re a One Chicago enthusiast, you might not want to purchase a subscription just yet.
Peacock is the latest entry into a crowded market as companies have been pushing their own streaming services and stepping back from third parties like Netflix and Hulu. It comes not long after WarnerMedia started HBO MAX, and at launch, it’s a lot like HBO MAX.
While NBCUniversal announced that fans would be able to watch every One Chicago episode earlier this year, that’s not actually the case.

Only the latest seasons of Chicago Fire, Chicago PD and Chicago Med are currently available.
And unfortunately, unless you’re willing to pay the $4.99/month to subscribe to the Peacock Premium tier, you won’t have access to two of those.
Chicago PD is the only One Chicago show available under the Free plan.
Watch One Chicago on fuboTV: Watch over 67 live sports and entertainment channels with a 7-day FREE trial!
You can search for Med or Fire, but attempting to play any of those episodes today results in a black screen (except for a pre-show advertisement).
And Chicago Justice has been completely left off. It’s not represented at all.
That means that, at present, Peacock is offering less One Chicago content than Hulu did.
Is Peacock worth it for One Chicago viewers?
Only if you are a die-hard fan who will re-watch episodes a lot. The streamer does hold the rights to stream every One Chicago episode, thanks to Dick Wolf’s latest contract, so they will be on this platform eventually.
However, it’s frustrating that they’re holding back the older seasons, and based on how they have the current ones set up, you’ll probably have to pay if you want access whenever everything else is available.
The good news is that if you’re a fan of Dick Wolf‘s work, some of his other shows are also available on the Peacock Premium level. You can get the complete series of Law & Order: SVU and Law & Order: Criminal Intent, but only six seasons of the original Law & Order (seasons 16-20).
His true-crime series Murder For Hire is also available.
Not on Peacock at all? FBI and FBI: Most Wanted (they stream on CBS All Access) or the other L&O spinoffs Los Angeles, Trial By Jury and Conviction.
