Chicago Med season 6 has started production.

The new season of Chicago Med is officially underway.

One Chicago Center has confirmed initial media reports that the medical drama has returned to production today, as it works toward a season premiere date of Wednesday, Nov. 11.

The series would normally have been filming over the summer, but like many TV series and films worldwide, found itself delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic. Production was pushed back until it was deemed safe for cast and crew to return to work.

As such, the premiere of the season was likewise pushed back from late September (it likely would have been next week) until November.

Very few details have been revealed about what’s happening in Chicago Med season 6, since there hasn’t been anything going on until today.

The entire main cast is expected to return, which would make this the only One Chicago series not having a cast change this season. Both Chicago PD and Chicago Fire dropped series regulars over the hiatus, but there’s been no report of Med getting rid of anyone or adding anyone new yet.

One thing that’s likely to occur is a romance between Dr. Natalie Manning (Torrey DeVitto) and the show’s newest addition Dr. Crockett Marcel (Dominic Rains). The final scene of season 5 was with Natalie and Crockett, and Chicago Med showrunners Diane Frolov and Andrew Schneider have been discussing them as a potential pair for some time now.

While fans wait for the show to come back with new episodes, they can stream the entire series to date (that’s over 100 installments) for free on IMDb TV, which picked up the program recently. More information on how to watch Chicago Med online can be found by clicking the link below.
