Chicago Med adds Tehmina Sunny as Will’s new colleague.

Another new doctor is arriving in Chicago Med season 6. Tehmina Sunny has been cast as a recurring guest star according to yet another report from Deadline.

The actress will play Dr. Sabeena Virani, who enlists Dr. Will Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) to head her new clinical trial for an unspecified medication.

She is set to appear in multiple Chicago Med season 6 episodes.

This begs the question of what’s going to happen with Will when the series returns in November.

He’s taken some different directions with his career recently; he worked at a safe injection site for several episodes, which was where he met his now-girlfriend Dr. Hannah Asher (Jessy Schram).

He also collaborated with another doctor (played by CSI: NY‘s Kathleen Munroe) on a treatment during the “Infection” crossover. So it seems that the writers enjoy matching Will up with different colleagues and seeing what happens—hopefully this storyline won’t end with him getting hit in the head or otherwise in trouble.

Tehmina Sunny currently has a starring role on The CW‘s science fiction series Pandora, which returns for its second season Oct. 4.

Her other credits include episodes of Training Day, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and CSI: Cyber, Game of Thrones and a four-episode run on the U.S. adaptation of Mistresses.

This is the second piece of One Chicago casting announced in two days. Yesterday, Empire actress Nicole Ari Parker was confirmed for a recurring role in the upcoming season of Chicago PD, which was also reported through Deadline. The news means that every One Chicago series has added at least one new cast member this offseason.
