When is the Chicago PD season 8 finale?

Like many broadcast series, Chicago PD was forced to make some changes to its production timeline this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Rather than kicking off filming on the season in summer, production was delayed until September which delayed the Chicago PD season 8 premiere until November.

Chicago PD season 8 finale date

While there have been some uncertainties surrounding the season, one thing that we’re sure of is that Chicago PD season 8 will come to a close in late May. With NBC looking to end its fall season at a more traditional pace, fans can expect the Chicago PD season 8 finale to air Wednesday, May 26 following the season 6 finale of Chicago Med and the season 9 finale of Chicago Fire.

Is Chicago PD season 9 happening?

Although it’s likely that season 8 will shorter than the average season of Chicago PD, the good news is there are still plenty of cases to be worked by the Intelligence Unit as Chicago PD season 9 has been confirmed by NBC.

In February 2020, NBC decided to renew Chicago PD for three more seasons. The first season in that order was Chicago PD season 8, which means we have season 9 and season 10 to look forward to!
