This is the crossover we truly were not expecting!

Throughout the years of the One Chicago franchise, we’ve seen guest stars come and go. Some are more famous than others, with some recurring and turning into fan-favorites, and others who stick around for just an episode or two. With all the dramatic storylines Chicago Med has given us, it’s hard to remember just all the actors who have made quick appearances. But fans of Netflix might have recognized one while diving into the streaming service’s latest horror series.

The Fear Street trilogy, based on R.L. Stine’s books of the same name but with an R-rated twist, premiered on Netflix on Friday, July 2, and continues through tomorrow, July 16. The films follow protagonist Deena (Kiana Madeira), a teenager who feels stuck in her town of Shadyside, Ohio, which has a particularly bad reputation. When the girl she’s in love with is targeted by the town’s urban legend, Deena must figure out the history behind a famous witch and how to stop her.

The three movies — Fear Street: 1994, Fear Street: 1978, and Fear Street: 1666 — each take place in a different time period, as evidenced by their titles, and shows the audience what happened to Shadyside. The presumed reason the town is haunted? A witch named Sarah Fier.

As the trilogy is about the supernatural, is very bloody, and doesn’t skimp out on the action, viewers have found each movie very scary. Just a warning before you check out these films!

So where does Chicago Med fit into all of this? Well, one former guest star is actually one of the reasons these Fear Street movies are so frightening.

What has Fear Street’s Elizabeth Scopel been in?

The actress who portrays the one and only Sarah Fier is Elizabeth Scopel. While you might not recognize the name, you’ll likely remember who she played in Chicago Med. If we rewind back to season 4, let’s recall the episode “Can’t Unring That Bell.” Scopel played the daughter of Jackie Mills (Dana Wheeler-Nicholson), Britt, a drug addict who Jackie and Dr. Daniel Charles (Oliver Platt) find while on their first date.

See a recent photo of Elizabeth Scopel below.

In the Chicago Med episode, Charles and Jackie bring Britt to the hospital, where Charles offers to treat her if she’s been clean for two weeks. Though Britt claims she is clean, it turns out that she’s lying and she ultimately flees from the hospital. This would be the end to Scopel’s stint on the NBC show.

Though Scopel’s role certainly wasn’t a major one, it’s still fun to see what One Chicago guest stars go on to do, especially when they snatch up huge Netflix parts like this one. The actress also appeared in an episode of FBI: Most Wanted in 2020, playing Daisy / Mia Anderson in the episode “Prophet.”

We’ll be curious to see what Elizabeth Scopel does next, and while we all wait for Chicago Med to return this fall, you can stream the first two Fear Street movies on Netflix right now. Fear Street: 1666 debuts tomorrow.
