Christmas might still be months away, but with Christmas in July underway here at FanSided Entertainment, we’re looking ahead to this holiday season and what it could mean for our favorite men and women in uniform when Chicago Fire season 10 debuts this fall!

As we look ahead to Chicago Fire season 10, there is a lot for fans to look forward to and there is no denying the first few episodes of the season, in particular, should be quite eventful.

After the premiere is given the chance to address the many cliffhangers from the season 9 finale, the second episode of Chicago Fire season 10 is expected to see the return of the One Chicago crossover events with a connective episode tying into that week’s Chicago Med and Chicago PD.

Also coming in the early stretch of the season will be the show’s 200th episode, which will be the fifth episode of the season and promises to be quite the memorable event!

With the excitement of the One Chicago crossover and 200th episode all happening within the first episodes of the season, there’s no denying there is already so much for fans to look forward to in season 10. However, one question that remains unclear is whether the series might look to use its milestone season to try something it’s never done before: a traditional Christmas episode.

Has Chicago Fire had any Christmas episodes?

Across its first nine seasons, Chicago Fire has technically had two Christmas episodes, but they’ve been far from your traditional holiday episodes. While season 1’s “Merry Christmas, Etc.” and season 3’s “Santa Bites,” both incorporated holiday elements, neither episode fully dove into the holiday with the usual troupes that make holiday episodes special.

Will there be a Christmas episode in Chicago Fire season 10?

At this time, NBC has not confirmed whether Chicago Fire season 10 will contain a Christmas episode making it hard to know whether one could be in the works at this time. However, if ever there was a time for a more traditional holiday episode that truly gave into the festive spirit with some holiday-infused storylines, there’s no denying season 10 would be the perfect season to drop a Christmas episode.

It’s been several seasons now since the show has dropped a holiday episode and as we discussed above, the show’s previous holiday episodes weren’t exactly heavy on the holiday spirit with more tongue-in-cheek spins on the genre.

The tenth season of a show is always a major milestone and we know the Chicago Fire writers already have big plans in place for the season, so what better time to finally go all-in with a holiday episode that incorporates more lighthearted holiday storylines throughout the episode.

Not only could we see the team responding to various holiday-related calls, but just imagine the fun that could be had in playing up classic TV holiday troupes such as a 51 office Christmas party, a Secret Santa exchange among the members of 51 or the hijinks that could ensure with a bit of mistletoe?

While no Christmas episode has been confirmed, a Chicago Fire Christmas episode is definitely going to be at the top of our wishlist this holiday season!
