Chicago Med season 7 episode 5 promo, synopsis and photos

Last Wednesday on Chicago Med, Dylan (Guy Lockard) teamed up with Charles (Oliver Platt) to help treat a longtime patient recently diagnosed with schizophrenia. Continuing the pair’s incredible chemistry and teamwork this season, upon treating the patient they discovered he had been misdiagnosed which helped them get to the bottom of his true ailment.
Elsewhere in the episode, Stevie (Kristen Hager) and Vanessa (Asjha Cooper) performed a deep dive into their patient’s medical history after flags were raised regarding the validity of her cancer diagnosis. Like Charles and Dylan, Stevie and Vanessa uncovered the diagnosis of their patient from years ago was not correct helping them to give their patient her life back after years of living in fear.

Chicago Med season 7 episode 5 promo
The biggest takeaway from this week’s promo is the glimpse it provides us of the arrival of Suits alumni Sarah Rafferty in a mysterious new role. While it remains unclear whether Rafferty will be sticking around for more than an episode or if this is merely a guest spot, one thing that is certain is her arrival seems primed to create some drama for Crockett (Dominic Rains).
As seen in the promo, Rafferty appears to play a transplant surgeon at Med who insists on taking over Crockett’s case despite the fact that his patient is her daughter — which Goodwin (S. Epatha Merkerson) is quick to point out in a heated exchange between the two.

In addition to previewing Crockett’s difficult and trying encounter with Rafferty’s transplant surgeon, the synopsis for this week’s episode previews some of the episode’s other cases of the week — and it looks like we’re in store for another incredible week at Med.

While Crockett navigates hospital policies, Dylan and Charles team up once again where they work to help yet another misdiagnosed patient as Will (Nick Gehlfuss) and Stevie come together to save their elderly patient, though it sounds like it might not be smooth sailing for the former med school rivals.
Here’s how NBC officially describes Chicago Med season 7, episode 5:
"Dylan and Charles treat patients suffering from Glass Child Syndrome and misdiagnosed ADHD. Crockett has to navigate hospital politics when he cares for the daughter of a transplant surgeon. Will and Stevie must lay egos aside to help save an elderly patient."
