A One Chicago crossover is always an exciting event. We haven’t had a big one for a while, but will that change this season?

With all three One Chicago shows on the same night, it only makes sense to see everyone crossover in three-episode events. They’ve quickly become favorite episodes for many fans, and we’re looking ahead at the chance of a crossover event happening again.

We haven’t seen a big One Chicago crossover for a few years. If you look carefully at the dates, you’ll see that there is one main reason for that. It was all linked to the pandemic. What about this season? Will it be possible to get a three-episode event?

Chicago Fire bosses talk the possibility of a One Chicago crossover

Never say “never.” According to an interview with TV Insider, executive producers Derek Haas and Andrea Newman have talked about a crossover event. If Dick Wolf had his way, we would definitely see a big crossover event. Why not? They are some of the biggest episodes of broadcast TV for the whole year.

The problem is COVID-19 still. There are still medical protocols in place for filming, and it turns out this is an issue for the three shows coming together. There will be a lot of people together, creating what has become known as a super-spreader event. That’s not what anyone wants, especially with Chicago being one of the hardest hit cities.

If it is possible to manage, then we can expect something. So, still, never say “never.” The three Law & Order shows figured out how to do it, so why shouldn’t we not get a One Chicago crossover?

The good news is there will be smaller crossovers happening. We already saw Upton turn up in the Chicago Fire season 11 premiere. There will be other small crossovers like this through, which makes a lot of sense for a series like this. There are times that the firefighters have to work with the cops, and we see people at Med all the time, meaning doctors and nurses are going to show up.
