As Chicago Fire prepares for its milestone 15th season, there's no shortage of storylines we're eager to see unfold, especially with how season 14 ended. It’s easy to get hung up on worrying solely about the fates of the characters from the show who were involved in the life-or-death cliffhanger. We’re all worried about the fates of our favorite characters and hoping that we won’t be saying goodbye to any character.
Rather than worrying about the goodbyes we could be saying as the season opens, though, we’re going to take a break today to think about the welcome backs we hope season 15 might bring!
There are also some familiar faces we’d love to see back in action in the upcoming 15th season, including a handful of characters we haven’t seen on the show in far too long.
As we look ahead to Chicago Fire season 15, we’re dreaming up a list of familiar faces from the show’s past who we desperately want to see back for the new season, even if just for a guest appearance.

Kylie Estevez
Of the characters on this list, Kylie is the only one we’ve seen in recent seasons, with her most recent appearance coming halfway through season 14. The episode saw Kylie helping Kidd with some Girls on Fire drills, which was definitely a fun way to bring Kylie back, but, like most of her appearances, it left us wanting more.
Kylie has been an amazing character, but the last few years she’s become more of a guest star than a recurring player in the season. We’re hoping that might change in season 15, as we’d love to see Kylie featured a bit more regularly on the show.
It would be nice to see her return to 51, even if only for a short window of time, and to see the writers give Kylie a more substantial storyline. She’s an incredible character, and it would be nice to see her take a bigger role at 51 or with the Girls on Fire program.

Matt Casey and Sylvie Brett
As Chicago Fire celebrates its 15th season, we can’t think of a better time to bring back two beloved members of the show’s ensemble who played a pivotal role in getting the show to where it is today. It’s somehow been three seasons since we last saw Casey and Brett, with their final appearances coming in season 12 when the couple got married before moving to Oregon.
While the show has referenced the pair since their exit, it would be fun to actually see them pass through Chicago to catch up with their former colleagues at 51. We’d love to know what the pair have been up to since moving to Oregon and how their family dynamics have changed since they officially started their blended family. Getting a glimpse into their family life would be a big treat for fans, as it’s something we never got to see on-screen due to the nature of how things played out.
Beyond the opportunities to see how married life has been treating the pair, it would be nice to see them both reunited with their 51 family! With Severide and Kidd looking to become Isaiah’s full-time guardians, it would be sweet to see them getting parenting advice from Casey and Brett, who took a similar path to starting their own family.
Plus, think of how much fun it would be to see the group go on a proper double date as two married couples for the first time! That would be such an amazing moment to show just how far Casey and Severide have both come since the first season, and we know Stellaride and Brettsey fans would appreciate the moment.

Wallace Boden
Moving along to another character who played a pivotal role in Chicago Fire’s early run, season 15 seems like the perfect time to finally bring Boden back into the mix! When Eamonn Walker exited the show, we were promised that Boden would still be featured heavily, only to see Boden once since his exit at the end of season 12.
There have been so many moments in the recent seasons where bringing Boden back would have felt natural given the storylines unfolding at the time, but sadly the moments each came and went without even a mention of Boden. It’s time for that to change in season 15.
We know that Walker was back on set during the filming of season 14 to catch up with his friends and former costars; now it’s time for the show to bring him back in front of the camera! Surely with all of the ongoing budget cuts in the CFD, there is some way to bring Boden back in an organic way as an ally to help 51. Alternatively, should season 15 open with the death of a main character, it would be nice to see Boden return for the funeral and to be there for his former colleagues.

Lieutenant Wendy Seager
I’m sure there are many Chicago Fire fans who are going to be annoyed to see Seager on this list, but hear me out. We know that OFI is looking for someone to fill Van Meter’s position as the head of OFI in a permanent capacity. The job was offered to Severide, but we just can’t see him leaving Firehouse 51 after fighting so hard to save his job and working just as hard to move up the ranks to captain.
Assuming that Severide indeed passes on the position, the show is going to need to name a new head of OFI, and who better to fill that seat than Lieutenant Wendy Seager?
It would be a natural fit for the show and would make sense for Seager’s character as a natural progression in her own career journey. This would also put a familiar face in the position and give the show a natural storyline to bring the character back into the mix from time to time. Plus, it would give the show the opportunity to explore the evolution of Seager and Severide’s working relationship.
Plus, we miss seeing Andy Allo on Chicago Fire and would love for the door to be opened for her to make more guest appearances!

Peter Mills
The last name on our list of characters we’d love to see back on Chicago Fire is a character we’ve been hoping to see return for years. That would be Peter Mills, who was last seen on the show way back in season 3.
During the early seasons of Chicago Fire, Mills was a central part of the show’s ensemble and was often front and center in many of the biggest storylines of the season. A large part of this was because of his status as the firehouse’s probie, which allowed the writers to explore storylines that couldn’t be told through others on the cast.
Mills left his job at 51 to move to North Carolina to assist his mom and sister in running a family restaurant left to them by his late grandfather. Following his initial exit, Mills was referenced on occasion, but as the years went by, his legacy at 51 became a distant memory; however, the fans have never forgotten him and continue to hold out hope he might one day return.
With season 15 arriving this fall, it would be nice to see Mills make his way back to 51 and to finally find out what he’s been up to all these years. Is he still working in the restaurant, or has he returned to firefighting? Maybe it’s a little bit of both. We’d just love to find out where life has taken him and to see Charlie Barnett back in the role!
