Now that Chicago Med is airing its 11th season, fans of the beloved medical drama have learned to expect certain things from the hit show. One thing that viewers now expect is for the show to have a large cast of characters that come and go. There have certainly been some Chicago Med characters whose departures have been welcomed. For example, there is one character from the show that I hope to never see again.
Sadly, there have been some Chicago Med characters who were great that disappeared and haven't been seen again. Nick Gehlfuss' recent return as Dr. Will Halstead and Torrey DeVitto's comeback as Dr. Natalie Manning show that some long-gone Chicago Med characters can be brought back. Following in that pattern, and keeping in mind the season 10 returns of Rachel DiPillo, Mekia Cox, and Hannah Riley, these 6 Chicago Med characters need to be brought back soon.

April Sexton & Dr. Ethan Choi need to return to Chicago Med
During the first eight seasons of Chicago Med, the show featured hundreds of highly dramatic storylines. Before Brian Tee and Yaya DaCosta left the show following the 8th season, many of those storylines were shown through the eyes of their characters, April Sexton and Dr. Ethan Choi. For example, when the show tackled the COVID-19 pandemic, it was April who was most dramatically impacted by her desire to help the patients who were struggling the most.
As a result of how important they were to the show, Ethan and April arguably grew more than any of Chicago Med's other characters ever have. That growth was epitomized by how the popular couple left the show, as newlyweds who departed Gaffney Chicago Medical Center to start a mobile clinic designed to help patients without access to healthcare.
Given the growth they underwent and the storyline that led to their departures, bringing April and Ethan back could be more entertaining than Natalie and Will's recent comeback was. Similar to how Will and Natalie's return allowed viewers to see how their relationship has changed, it would be wonderful to see whether Ethan and April are happy together. More than that, bringing the couple back could allow viewers to either get a window into how April and Ethan have helped people or why their mobile clinic efforts flopped. Either scenario would be interesting to see if done right.

Why Dr. Connor Rhodes & Dr. Isidore Latham need to return to Chicago Med
Like most television dramas, Chicago Med has often focused on romantic relationships. While that has been a welcome part of the medical drama, there have been times when it has felt like the show's writers forget that another kind of relationship can be very entertaining to watch. As much as fans enjoy seeing characters fall in love, viewers also love seeing people build strong friendships.
When Dr. Isidore Latham became Dr. Connor Rhodes' boss, there was no way to know how endearing their relationship would become. In a series of episodes, Dr. Latham was shown teaching Dr. Rhodes how to be a better doctor in his role as his mentor. At the same time, Connor and Isidore also became friends, and that relationship brought out another side in Dr. Latham.
It has now been years since fans saw Latham and Rhodes say goodbye to one another when the younger doctor decided to leave Gaffney Chicago Medical Center. It would be fantastic to see the two characters reunite and rekindle that friendship if they were to make a Chicago Med comeback side-by-side.

Dr. Crockett Marcel & Dr. Dylan Scott need to return to Chicago Med
Since Chicago Med premiered, it has long been clear that the show's original main characters had the biggest impact on viewers. As a result, it makes perfect sense that many of the characters from the show's past that viewers would be the most excited to see again were portrayed by members of the show's original cast. However, two former Chicago Med stars who were introduced during later seasons would be very welcome if they returned.
Introduced during season 5, Dr. Crockett Marcel is one of the most popular Chicago Med characters in the show's history. Effortlessly charming, Crockett's charisma made every scene he was a part of more fun to watch. Also depicted as an excellent doctor, viewers took Crockett very seriously. For those reasons and more, bringing Crockett back seems like a no-brainer.
On the other hand, there is no doubt that bringing Dr. Dylan Scott back to Chicago Med is a lot more of an unorthodox choice. Even though Dylan isn't one of Chicago Med's most popular characters, he should be brought back for two reasons. First off, Dr. Scott was an interesting character whose past work as a police officer made the character and the scenes he was a part of feel more connected to the show's location, Chicago. Secondly, Dylan was a warm character whose connections to his patients and co-workers felt genuine in a way that would be delightful to see again.
