Every day, we're getting closer to the highly anticipated returns of the One Chicago shows on Wednesday, Oct. 7. As our countdown continues, we're beginning to see more first-looks from the upcoming seasons. While the initial batch of previews for Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, and Chicago PD might have been underwhelming, the latest trailers are offering some big hints.
The previous Chicago Fire season 15 promo gave us an idea of which characters could be in danger after the season 14 finale's warehouse fire, but the new trailer confirms which characters survived the life-threatening disaster. During the show's summer hiatus, fans have been theorizing and guessing who we could be losing, but NBC finally gave us at least eight names who are safe.
In the new promotional trailer for Chicago Fire season 15, which was first made available for fans to watch on Peacock, the Firehouse 51 team's next chapter after the devastating fire last season is placed front and center. Kidd provides words of wisdom as flashes of the warehouse fire and the team's efforts are shown, leading to blink-and-you'll-miss-it glimpses of the aftermath.
As the trailer reveals, a good portion of the squad are confirmed to have survived the fire: Severide, Kidd, Mouch, Herrmann, Vasquez, Novak, Violet, and Capp. Each of these characters are seen in the later portion of the Chicago Fire season 15 trailer in scenes at the firehouse that take place after the season 14 finale warehouse fire. We officially don't have to worry about this group.
Granted, we already knew that Severide and Kidd would make it to season 15 since Taylor Kinney and Miranda Rae Mayo's deals to return were made shortly after the May finale. Additionally, as parademics, Novak and Violet were on the ground and not directly involved in the warehouse fire rescue efforts, ensuring they would not be directly in harm's way.
That left everyone else who had rushed into the building or had been running off the roof to safety as the building exploded. Now we know who will be safe, but the trailer still didn't confirm the fates of Tony, Pascal, and Cruz. Pascal wasn't featured in the trailer at all, and given Dermot Mulroney's exit from the series, it wouldn't be totally unexpected if Pascal happened to rush in to help the team, despite the fact he wasn't on duty, and becoming a hero.
Chicago Fire season 15 will also be Joe Miñoso's final season as a series regular, with his final epsiode rumored to be the milestone 300th episode. The cast has been hard at work filming this episode and were spotted wearing dress blues on set, leading to speculation that the Firehouse 51 team could be in the unfortunate position of attending a funeral for one of their own.
In that sense, the speculation as to which character death could be happening in the season 15 premiere rages on. We can at least rest assured that a large number of the characters, and a most of the series regulars, have been marked safe. The new trailer also gave an introduction to new series regular cast member Da'Vinchi and new recurring star Matthew Daddario, who are playing two firefighter candidates looking to join the squad full time.
When Chicago Fire season 15 premieres on Wednesday, Oct. 7 at 9/8c on NBC, all will be revealed about who lives and who, if anyone, doesn't make it out of the warehouse fire alive!
