Tracy Spiridakos and Jesse Lee Soffer won’t be the only One Chicago alums making a comeback in the 2026 One Chicago crossover event as the event will apparently also feature the return of a familiar face from Chicago Fire as well!

NBC has released a batch of new photos from the upcoming 2026 One Chicago crossover event. These new photos give fans their first looks at the crossover event airing March 4, and it’s true that a picture is worth a thousand words. These photos make it clear that the first responders of the Windy City are up against a threat unlike any they’ve seen before, creating an all-hands-on-deck situation so big the FBI are brought to town and thrown into the mix.

Among the dozens of new photos released from the crossover is a photo that confirms the unexpected return of a Chicago Fire character not seen since season 13: Dandrell Scott’s Lieutenant Briggs.

One Chicago Center was first to break the news that Scott would be returning in what was described as a recurring role reprising his role as Briggs. We last saw Scott back in season 13 via a brief appearance in episode 16, “In the Rubble,” when he crossed paths with Damon at the Fire Academy. It was revealed that Damon and Briggs had worked together for a time before landing at different houses within the CFD. When he last appeared, Briggs mentioned that he had been working at 36 before being moved to a position on Truck at Firehouse 68.

Since we last saw him in season 13, Briggs has risen through the ranks and is now lieutenant of Truck 68. As seen in the above photo from the crossover, it seems fans will get to see Briggs in action in the One Chicago crossover with Truck 68 showing up to support Firehouse 51 on the scene with fellow Truck 68 member Macy (Carlita Tucker), who appeared just a few episodes back to lend Kidd a hand with Girls on Fire prep.

The photo doesn’t provide too much context, but it seems that Truck 68 will be called to the airfield where the crossover mystery begins after a passenger jet goes missing. Both Briggs and Macy look ready to race into action as they stand on the sideline by Truck 68. Considering the promise that the passenger jet’s disappearance is only the beginning of what develops into a bigger and deadlier mystery, we certain the Firehouse 51 team can use all the help they can get and we don't imagine they won't be called to action.

While we’re not expecting Briggs to play a major role in the crossover, we are hoping to see more of the character as the season continues. It’s unclear how many episodes we’ll see Scott appear in as part of his recurring role in season 14, but the fact that his return comes in the 2026 One Chicago crossover hints that perhaps the show has big plans for the character.

We’ll find out what those might be as Chicago Fire season 14 resumes beginning with the 2026 One Chicago crossover on Wednesday, March 4!
