As October comes to a close, NBC’s One Chicago shows are about to get into the holiday spirit with a fun injection of Halloween costumes! While it doesn’t look like any of the One Chicago shows are going to lean into full-on Halloween episodes with over-the-top celebrations of the holiday, both Chicago Fire and Chicago Med will be working in a bit of Halloween spirit which will see at least a few characters on the shows dressing up to partake in a bit of Halloween fun.
On Chicago Fire, Molly’s will be hosting a Halloween night fundraiser event designed to help raise money for the Herrmann family. The episode will see several characters rocking various costumes at the fundraiser event, which seems to be more than what Chicago Med has planned for its 2025 holiday episode.
While we see Halloween decorations in the background of several photos for Chicago Med season 11, episode 5, and the nurses of Gaffney are all rocking Halloween themed scrubs, it doesn’t seem like many doctors will be getting into costume this season. But fear not, there is at least one Chicago Med character partaking in Halloween festivities, and his costume is making us love him even more!

Luke Mitchell remains the reigning king of Halloween on Chicago Med
Luke Mitchell’s Dr. Mitch Ripley is quickly establishing himself as the King of Halloween in the Windy City! Last year, Mitchell proved he was Kenough, playing the Ken to Hannah’s Barbie, and this year it seems he’s taking on yet another iconic character – albeit one that is definitely unexpected.
For Chicago Med’s season 11 Halloween episode, Ripley will be accompanying Sadie as she takes her daughter Emelia trick-or-treating where the trio will be dressing up as characters from Winnie the Pooh! As we see in the photos, Emelia dresses up as Pooh, Sadie goes as Piglet, while Ripley dons a Tigger costume which we’re absolutely obsessed with!

First, let’s just give some credit where credit is due. Only Mitchell can take a Tigger onesie and somehow make it sexy. Yes, we had to say it. We don’t make the rules, we just report the facts.

But let’s be real — what makes the costume (and Ripley himself) even more lovable isn’t just that he can make a Tigger costume look good. It’s that he’s always game for whatever the women in his life dream up, fully committing to the bit and proving he’s not afraid to have fun — or look a little goofy — in the name of a good time.

It’s a quality that has honestly made Ripley one of Chicago Med’s greatest characters. He’s such an incredibly well-rounded character, with so many layers to his personality. He’s a character we can’t help but want to root for even when he’s making questionable decisions, as we saw last season, and the reason we want to root for him is that we know at his core he’s an incredible doctor and great guy.
We love that the writers continue to have fun with Ripley each Halloween and can’t wait to see what next season might hold!
