It truly feels like the latest seasons of Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, and Chicago PD only just began and yet we’ve officially reached the end of the line! There are just two episodes left in the current seasons of the One Chicago shows which will be signing off the air slightly earlier than expected this season.
While we initially expected the Chicago Med season 11, Chicago Fire season 14, and Chicago PD season 13 finales would air in late May, NBC surprised fans by announcing the shows would instead wrap their runs just before we hit the halfway point in May.
Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, and Chicago PD will wrap their current seasons on May 13, which marks one of the earliest batches of season finales for the One Chicago shows in their runs. This is a notable departure from the usual route NBC takes in closing out the seasons in late May and means the summer hiatus will be slightly longer as a result. Though, it sounds like the finales will bring about some major developments that we imagine will keep fans talking all through the summer!
NBC has released the official synopsis information for all three One Chicago shows’ finales, which will each bring about a series of exciting storylines!
Opening the night will be the Chicago Med season 11 finale, “Heaven Help Us," which will put a major focus on Hannah. The synopsis teases she will face one of the most challenging deliveries of her career, which we have a feeling might be her own!
They always say doctors make the worst patients, and we imagine Hannah will struggle with being on the other side of the table. It’s sure to be stressful for the fans given how Chicago Med’s showrunner has been hinting all season long that the delivery might not go smoothly.
The only other tease NBC offered up about the Chicago Med finale is that Frost navigates demanding times, which will likely be connected to his parents and/or Ainsley. While not teased by NBC, we also imagine the finale will see the Charles and Theo showdown come to a head as Theo pushes to take Charles’ job in a full-time capacity.
Speaking of confrontation, the Chicago Fire season 14 finale should bring a conclusion to the Severide and Hopkins storyline. The finale will bring back a surprise visitor whose arrival will likely be connected to Severide and Kidd’s efforts to clear Severide’s name and stop Hopkins from using his power to seek revenge for the actions of Severide’s dad, Benny.
The finale will also bring some lighter moments with Herrmann and Cindy renewing their vows, and Mouch getting encouraging news.
The night will close out with the Chicago PD season 13 finale, “Born or Made,” which will be a major episode for Imani. The synopsis for the episode teases that Imani will have to confront her past before it's too late, hinting that the case at the heart of the episode will be connected to her missing sister.
As the spoilers tease, the Intelligence Unit will be forced to rethink their strategy when a key witness refuses to cooperate. They’ll be racing against the clock as they try to bring in a fleeing suspect in order to get justice. With the penultimate episode setting the stage for Imani to get a break in the case connected to her sister’s disappearance, we imagine that the finale will bring closure to the storyline.
It’s going to be a night of can’t-miss episodes for One Chicago fans, who will want to be sure to clear their Wednesday night to watch the Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, and Chicago PD finales on May 13!
