The stakes have never been higher for the franchise.

One Chicago really knocked the crossover premise out of the park in 2019. They had attempted it in the past, but the three-part "Infection" story maximized the format while at the same time giving shine to each of the individual shows. It was a triumph. It sounds like One Chicago figured out a way to top it with its new, crossover, however.

One Chicago executive producer Anastasia Puglisi likened the crossover to a three hour film, and now, a Chicago Med cast member got more specific about which three hour film. Steven Weber told Screen Rant that the 2025 crossover will be the franchise's answer to Avengers: Endgame.

For context, Avengers: Endgame was the 2019 blockbuster that brought the curtain down on the Marvel Cinematic Universe's decade long Infinity Stone saga. It was three hours in length, and made a staggeting $2.7 billion at the global box office. Many fans consider it to be the last great moment of the MCU.

The comparison is a lofty one, but Weber is confident that One Chicago fans will feel just as strong about the January 29 crossover. "This is like Avengers: Endgame," he explained. "Everybody comes in and they are going! And the audience is going to be screaming. That's all I'm going to say." Fortunately Weber did say more. The actor also hyped up the sprawl and scale of the crossover.

Weber, who plays Dr. Dean Archer on Med, told the outlet that he was knocked out by how many moving pieces were at play during the filming of the three-part crossover. "It's really hard," he said. "The thing is that this particular crossover is the equivalent of the audience going to a One Chicago amusement park and combine that with all these amazing actors."

Weber claimed it was like an "amusement park"

Webet compared it to a usual Chicago Med episode, and said that the crossover far surpasses in terms of how many people are coming in and out. "It's not just a couple here and there," he noted. "Mincing through the ER or some doctor shows up at a crash site or something like that."

All signs point to Weber's character playing a huge role in the crossover. He was mentioned by name by Chicago Fire star Joe Minoso, who jokingly said he was underwhelmed when he filmed scenes with him in 2019. "That's a joke," Minoso added. "Please don't take that seriously." One thing that is serious is our excitement for January 29.
