2026 is shaping up to be quite an exciting year for Jesse Lee Soffer and Tracy Spiridakos. Not only will the pair be making their way back to the One Chicago franchise for the first time since their respective exits, but the off-screen couple has added a new member to their family as well!
“We got a puppy!” Soffer wrote on Instagram, sharing the exciting news that he and Spiridakos have adopted a new dog together.
As Spiridakos revealed in her own post sharing the exciting news, the couple’s new dog, Cali, was surrendered to a city shelter in California with a degloving injury, which resulted in her being labeled an at-risk puppy. After learning about Cali from a friend, the pair knew right away that they wanted to adopt her and help get her the treatment needed for her injury. With help from their friend and the Ash Tree Ranch Rescue, the pair were able to make it happen, getting Cali the treatment she needed before the pair were finally able to make it out to California to bring her home.
“You guys, this is Cali. She was surrendered to a city shelter in California by her owner with a degloving injury, (when the skin is separated from the jaw bone) and was listed as an at-risk pup. When my wonderful friend told us about her, Jesse and I knew right away we were adopting her. Problem was, we weren’t in California, couldn’t get back for a few days and this girl needed help right away,” Spiridakos shared. “Kinga introduced us to Janay from Ash Tree Ranch Rescue and she was incredible! She arranged for Cali to be picked up from the shelter and taken to a veterinary hospital for surgery. Then she took care of her for us until we could get back to California.”
Now that Cali has finally arrived home with Soffer and Spiridakos, she seems to be doing amazing and we’re absolutely obsessed with the adorable shots of Cali cuddling up to her new parents. Warning, cuteness overload ahead.
Adopting Cali is a major step for Spiridakos and Soffer, who have been romantically involved for some time now. The pair first sparked dating rumors years ago, but it was only recently that the pair took their relationship public.
The pair first met in 2017 when Spiridakos joined the cast of Chicago PD, and it didn’t take long for their characters to become romantically involved in the show. Eventually, dating rumors sparked online, but the duo chose to keep their personal relationship private.
When Soffer joined the cast of FBI: International, rumors intensified as Spiridakos joined him in Europe, with the pair sharing a series of photos together during their time overseas. Once the pair went Instagram official, they began more openly sharing a series of cute shots together in the months that followed.
Cali enters their lives just over a year after the death of Spiridakos’ dog of 12 years, Nala, who the pair memorialized in a pair of sweet tributes in January 2025. As any couple knows, adopting a dog together is a major step for a couple and we’re so happy for Spiridakos and Soffer to be welcoming a new fur-baby to their family and look forward to more photos of Cali on the pair’s respective Instagram accounts!
