Chicago PD and Chicago Fire have already stirred the pot during the off season by announcing new cast members. PD will be tasked with having to replace veteran Hailey Upton (Tracy Spiridakos), and Fire will be bringing in a brand new Firehouse Chief. Now, Chicago Med is getting in on the fun. The medical drama has added not one, but two new cast members in August!

We knew that cast announcements would be coming soon, given that Chicago Med is already in the midst of production on season 10. If NBC didn't announce it soon, fans were going to be able to put the pieces together thanks to set photos. According to Deadline, the medical drama will be adding actor Darren Barnet and actress Sarah Ramos to the mix.

Barnet will play Dr. John Frost, a pediatric resident who will evidently try to keep a secret from the rest of the Gaffney Medical team (he's going to have to get in line between Dr. Mitch Ripley). Ramos, on the other hand, will play Dr. Caitlin Lenox, an ED Attending who comes to Gaffney with the intention of maximizing workflow.

Both Barnet and Ramos will be joining as series regulars, which makes sense given the recent slate of exits that Chicago Med has had to contend with. In addition to losing Dr. Will Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) and a handful of season 8 additions, Med will be forced to say goodbye to fan favorite Dr. Crockett Marcel (Dominic Rains) in the upcoming season.

Ramos also co-stars with Oliver Platt on The Bear

Darren Barnet is best known for playing Paxton Hall-Yoshida on the Netflix series Never Have I Ever (2020-23). Sarah Ramos, meanwhile, should be familiar to anybody who is a fan of the other Chicago TV show that's taken the world by storm: The Bear (2022-). Ramos has appeared in seasons 2 and 3 of the cooking drama as expedite station worker Jessica.

This means the actress will now feature on two beloved Windy City shows with Oliver Platt, since the veteran character actor also pulls double duty on Med and The Bear. Pretty good company, if you ask us.
