Doctor Odyssey introduces the new doctors and nurses to save the day (Preview)

Are you ready for a new medical drama? What about one that promises to bring the same energy as the likes of 911? Well, ABC has your back with Doctor Odyssey.

The new medical drama has a rather unique look to it. It’s on board a luxury cruise ship, and we follow the new doctor on board, Max Bankman played by Joshua Jackson. This introduces us to the world of cruise ship emergencies.

Like so many pilot episodes, this is one that introduces us to the concept and the cast. It will likely be a little standard, but keep in mind that this episode was written to impress the bosses at ABC. The second episode is for us, so stick with it!

Ryan Murphy is sure to bring the drama and intense calls, though. He and his team haven’t steered us wrong with the 911 shows, and Doctor Odyssey has a similar concept.

We’ll get to learn more about Max and how he’s landed this job on a cruise ship. We’ll also get to meet the nurses who will work with him, including Phillipa Soo’s Avery Morgan and Sean Teale’s Tristan Silva. Then there’s the captain of the ship, Robert Massey played by Don Johnson.

There aren’t many details about the type of medical emergency the team will face in the first episode, and the trailer has a mixture of guest stars and emergencies for the first few episodes. For example, based on an image released, we’re expecting Shania Twain to show up in the second episode.

What we do know is that there is a romance coming, and that’s sure to happen in some sort of way in the first episode. It could just be a hint of a romance, but we know that Max and Avery are going to hook up, and then they’ll need to have that messy conversation that neither of them wants.
