We're in a tricky place as Chicago PD fans. We know that Tracy Spiridakos is going to be leaving the show at the end of season 11, but the lack of interviews the actress has given, coupled with the fact that the show hasn't set up her departure, makes it feels as though her exit is further away than it actually is.

It's going to feel like a bit of a blindside when it happens. Well, it was going to. Spiridakos hopped on Instagram to share a brand new hairstyle, and truth be told, it's the first massive sign that the era of Upton is coming to an end.

The actress played coy with fans in the caption, writing: "So, I did something 😃 and I love it." The something was a much shorter hairstyle that is worlds away from the way she's wore it during her tenure as CPD officer Hailey Upton (that's right, past tense already!)

The revelation not only confirms that Spiridakos has moved on from her time on Chicago PD, but that she's quite literally wrapped production on the show. Marina Squerciati hinted that production on the season 11 finale was coming to a close a few weeks ago, but Spiridakos' post is the first confirmation we have that it's in the can.

Spiridakos' final episode has yet to air

Spiridakos has been chronicling her final season on social media, but she's been conspicuously silent when it comes to interviews. It's fallen to co-stars like Squerciati and Jason Beghe to discuss her exit, and even when it was announced at the beginning of season 11, it was PD showrunner Gwen Sigan who made the statement:

"[Spiridakos is] ready to depart, and has been very kind in giving us a full season to do her character justice."

It's unclear why Spiridakos has been quiet on the promo front, but there is a precedence with regards to One Chicago exits. Jesse Lee Soffer and Kara Killmer left Fire and PD in the last couple years, and neither spoke at length about their decision or their future plans until their final episode had aired. It's safe to assume that Spiridakos will follow suit.
