Fans of the One Chicago franchise know all too well how the lineup of stars changes over time. When Tracy Spiridakos left Chicago PD, many wondered what her next move would be. Now, we finally know. The beloved actress is stepping into a brand-new leading role in an upcoming USA Network series!

Spiridakos is widely recognized for her role as Detective Hailey Upton on Chicago PD. She became part of the popular NBC police procedural during its fourth season and stayed with the show through to the season 11 finale. Sadly, she made the decision to depart the series in January 2024. The reasoning being that she wanted to explore new opportunities after spending over seven years with the cast and crew. But we hadn't seen her anything else since.

According to Deadline, Spiridakos is set to star as the main character in a new TV series called Anna Pigeon, which will air on USA Network starting in 2026. This marks her first major TV role since her departure from Chicago PD. In November 2024, she signed on to an indie thriller flick called After. It's unknown when that movie will come out, though.

Anna Pigeon is described as a crime drama series. It's based on the Anna Pigeon book series by Nevada Barr. Morwyn Brebner (Rookie Blue, Saving Hope) is signed on as showrunner, with Lea Thompson (Will Trent, The Goldbergs) serving as director. Both are also executive producers along with Todd Berger, Brett Burlock, Sonia Hosko, Julie Di Cresce, Peter Emerson, Gordon Gilbertson, Tom Cox, and Jordy Randall.

The show centers around a woman named Anna Pigeon. Anna is a former city dweller who turns to life as a park ranger after a tragic loss drastically alters her path. As she struggles to escape the shadows of her past, Anna becomes deeply committed to uncovering the truth behind crimes that unfold within the country's national parks. Spiridakos takes on this emotionally complex and gritty role, marking a bold new direction for the actress as she trades urban policing for wilderness justice.

Unfortunately, she's the only actor to have been cast so far in this series. However, additional casting announcements are likely just around the corner. It'll be interesting and exciting to find out who else will be part of the show’s ensemble.

You can currently purchase the Anna Pigeon books on Amazon in various formats and at different prices. If you're looking forward to watching this upcoming series adaptation, checking out the original novels would be a great way to get a head start on the story.
