Chicago PD’s Barbara Eve Harris and Wil Traval have both been cast in Netflix’s upcoming series Messiah. Find out about their new project and roles here.

Two actors from the ranks of Chicago PD have joined the ensemble for Netflix‘s original series Messiah.

Barbara Eve Harris will have a recurring role in Messiah season 1, while Wil Traval has been named a series regular, according to a Deadline report. The duo were among almost a dozen actors added to the Netflix show this week.

As the title suggests, Messiah focuses on a man who suddenly appears in the Middle East, claiming that he is the messiah, and how the world reacts to him.

The series is created by Michael Petroni (The Book Thief) and produced by Mark Burnett (The Voice) and his wife Roma Downey (Touched by an Angel).

Harris is known to Chicago PD fans for her recurring role as Commander Emma Crowley, the supervising officer who often interacts with the Intelligence Unit.

Since debuting in 2015, she’s appeared in 16 episodes of the show and another three of Chicago Fire.

But Harris didn’t turn up at all this season, with her last appearance being in the episode “I Remember Her Now” from Chicago PD season 4.

In Messiah, Barbara Eve Harris will play another boss. Her character Katherine Bailey is the CIA supervisor of Agent Eva Geller (Michelle Monaghan, True Detective).

Wil Traval appeared in the Chicago PD season 5 episode “Fallen” as Sergeant Sean McGrady, the former colleague of Hailey Upton (Tracy Spiridakos) who committed suicide and staged it to look like a murder in order to cover up his own misdeeds.

His casting in Messiah brings him back to Netflix, where he starred as Will Simpson in the first season of the streaming service’s Jessica Jones.

Like Barbara Eve Harris, Wil Traval’s role isn’t too far from the work he did in One Chicago. His character also carries a badge—albeit a different one. He’ll play the part of FBI agent Will Mathers, who starts to work with Geller on the messiah case but naturally disagrees with her on how to handle it.
