Chicago PD’s Charles Michael Davis to co-star in ABC Christmas movie
Charles Michael Davis, who recurred during Chicago PD season 6, is the romantic lead in a new Christmas TV-movie set up at ABC.
Charles Michael Davis isn’t returning to Chicago PD, but One Chicago fans will be able to see him get a happier ending in his next project.
The actor has booked a starring role in Same Time Next Christmas, a new holiday romance airing on ABC and produced by Freeform Studios (Freeform being formerly known as ABC Family). The movie will understandably air sometime in December.
Davis’s character Jeff Cutler is a man reunited with his childhood sweetheart Olivia, played by Glee alum Lea Michele, at the same Hawaii resort where they met as kids years earlier.
Though she now has a boyfriend (portrayed by The Mindy Project‘s Bryan Greenberg), Jeff finds he still has feelings for Olivia and the two may rekindle their former romance.

It almost certainly has to end better than Davis’s storyline during Chicago PD season 6. He was in multiple episodes as Blair Williams, a political operative who began a quick fling with Kim Burgess (Marina Squerciati).
Though Blair was working on the mayoral campaign of Brian Kelton (John C. McGinley), he quickly heated things up with Burgess—only to be murdered in the episode “What Could Have Been.” He was revealed to have been killed by Ray Price’s (Wendell Pierce) wife, after Blair threatened to ruin their rival campaign.
Price took the fall for his wife’s actions to keep her out of prison, thus ending his run for Mayor and putting himself behind bars.
Same Time Next Christmas doesn’t have a specific premiere date yet, but it’s something a lot more lighthearted to look forward to. And the actor isn’t any stranger to romantic storylines.
Fans can also currently see Charles Michael Davis in the sixth season of TV Land’s Younger, where he stars alongside Chicago Med recurring guest star Molly Bernard. He plays Zane, who’s now in a workplace romance with Kelsey (Hilary Duff); you can watch a highlight from the series by playing the video above.
