Watch NBC’s first promo for the new One Chicago season, which dramatically teases new Chicago Fire, Chicago PD and Chicago Med episodes.

Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, and Chicago PD are officially back, because NBC has released the first promo for the new One Chicago Wednesdays season. And judging by what’s in the promo, everyone’s favorite police, firefighters, doctors, and nurses are ready to protect and save the Windy City once again.

The brand new ad comes on the heels of NBC’s promotional photo release last week, which showcased all three casts in a faded, ombre color schema using the tagline “A City of Heroes. A Night of Hope.”

That new tagline is certainly reflected in the promo, as the opening line that comes from Chief Wallace Boden (Eamonn Walker) is: “Honesty, integrity, bravery—on the streets of Chicago every single day.”

The promo then launches into a stunning array of last season’s most dramatic scenes, set to the song “There’s a Hero in You” by Tommee Profitt. These clips are interspersed with collages of One Chicago characters.

And while there’s no new footage in the promo, the choice of characters who are most prominently seen might offer some clues about those cliffhangers that  still have yet to be resolved.

Chicago Med is up first, and this promo may be good news for fans of Dr. Will Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) and Dr. Natalie Manning (Torrey DeVitto), because they are both prominently featured here and in the aforementioned key art.

That’s an encouraging sign, but since there aren’t any new clips shown, viewers don’t know if Manstead will be able to fix their relationship—or how much damage was done in the tragic accident that ended last season.

Chicago Fire features an orange background and includes shots of Captain Matthew Casey (Jesse Spencer), Randy “Mouch” McHolland (Christian Stolte), Brian “Otis” Zvonecek (Yuri Sardarov), Stella Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo), and Sylvie Brett (Kara Killmer).

Speaking of unresolved fates, another character One Chicago that fans are wondering about is Brett, who accepted a marriage proposal from former chaplain Kyle Sheffield (recurring guest star Teddy Sears) in the finale. Since she appears throughout the trailer as well, it’s also fairly safe to say that she will be sticking around the firehouse in some capacity.

Last but not least, the new One Chicago ad includes Chicago PD against a blue backdrop with Hank Voight (Jason Beghe), Jay Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer), Adam Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger), Kevin Atwater (LaRoyce Hawkins), and Kim Burgess (Marina Squerciati) getting the most prominent positions.

The image of Ruzek back on the streets is reassuring, as it hopefully means his stint in prison is short-lived.

The trailer goes on to show another quote, “Chicago Stands Together,” which can be taken literally in the sense that the shows are coming together again this year, but more figuratively in that the world of One Chicago so effortlessly blends into one entity.

Whereas the key art for this season was a little bit confusing, this newly released promo gets fans excited for the upcoming season—which is just under a month away. All three shows return Sept. 25 starting at 8 p.m. on NBC.
