What should fans look for in this week’s episode of Chicago Fire? Get ready for A Real Shot In The Arm with our Chicago Fire season 8, episode 2 preview.

Tonight’s episode of Chicago Fire will have fans on the edge of their seats as two of Firehouse 51’s finest take on a couple of extreme rescue missions.

Captain Matt Casey (Jesse Spencer) and Lieutenant Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney) will be going to great lengths to make some serious saves during the episode. From scaling buildings to swimming against the clock, fans will see these two in action like never before.

It’s not only our fearless leaders who take the heat during the episode, as new recruit Blake Gallo (Alberto Rosende) will join in on the fun. This will mark Rosende’s Chicago Fire debut, so it will be interesting to see how his character is received by fans and the Firehouse alike.

Rosende’s character will presumably fill the spot left open on Truck 81 after Brian “Otis” Zvonecek’s (Yuri Sardarov) death in the season 8 premiere. Considering Casey was having trouble finding the perfect candidate, fans will be anxious to see what makes him so quick to keep Gallo for the long haul.

While fans will be grieving the loss of Otis for a while, another character’s presence is missing in the Windy City. Sylvie Brett (Kara Killmer) is still in Fowlerton with her fiancé, Chaplain Kyle Sheffield (recurring guest star Teddy Sears), and she’s still trying to adjust to the small-town way of things. She’s in a new city, with a new job, and a new fiancé – that’s a lot for anyone to take in!

One person who will definitely be missing her paramedic partner is Emily Foster (Annie Ilonzeh), who, as of episode 2, is still stuck with Collins (guest star Austin Peck). If tonight’s episode is anything like last week’s premiere, it will be a long time before these two see eye to eye. So will Foster be desperate enough to somehow bring Brett back to 51? Those two worked so well together, and we know that Sylvie is meant to be a paramedic, one way or another.

Also expected in the episode? Chief Wallace Boden (Eamonn Walker) will have to confront Matt about his actions, and will mention Otis’ passing to drive home his point. “I have just buried a firefighter” he gravely states in the teaser for the episode, “I’m not going to bury another one.”

It’s not all doom and gloom on Chicago Fire though, and that happiness comes from Stella Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo) and Severide. Based on the episode photos, the pair are seen enjoying a day on the lake. They went out on a romantic date during the premiere last week, so hopefully these Stellaride dates keep happening because they deserve some time together.
