Chicago Med season 5, episode 14 preview: It May Not Be Forever
By Kari Highman
What should fans look for in this week’s episode of Chicago Med? Get ready for It May Not Be Forever with our Chicago Med season 5, episode 14 preview.
Tonight’s episode of Chicago Med features the unlikely duo of Dr. Natalie Manning (Torrey DeVitto) and Dr. Crockett Marcel (Dominic Rains) as they deal with a possible domestic violence patient. Is that a recipe for disaster?
Given Natalie’s by the book demeanor and Crockett’s go with the flow attitude, it makes sense that these two would clash over what to do with their latest case. Who knows—maybe they’ve learned a thing or two about each other since their first assignment together in “Leave the Choice to Solomon.”
They aren’t the only ones struggling with their decisions in this episode, though. “It May Not Be Forever” also focuses on Dr. Will Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) and whether or not he’ll own up to his involvement in an illegal injection site.
The job itself has been hard enough on him, but to make matters worse, his colleague Dr. Hannah Asher (recurring guest star Jessy Schram) was recently revealed as one of Will’s patients, and she is willing to go pretty far to keep that quiet.

In last week’s “Pain Is for the Living,” Asher threatened to out Will’s involvement with the safe injection site if he came forward about her addiction. If she revealed his secret, they’d both lose their licenses.
So what is Will going to do next? It’s not the first time we’ve seen Will take drastic measures with his career and/or life in jeopardy. Just last season he had to go into witness protection on his wedding night after working undercover.
This time it’s his career that’s at stake, so he shouldn’t have to leave Chicago, at least. But he could end up in his worst professional predicament since he was getting sued back in Chicago Med‘s first season.

Elsewhere in the hospital, Dr. Ethan Choi (Brian Tee) and April Sexton (Yaya DaCosta) are still enjoying their engagement. But judging by some of the promotional photos NBC has released, Crockett could turn April’s world upside down once again when he’s done arguing with Natalie.
Crockett’s been playing it cool with her lately, but he’s not one to refrain from stirring the pot either. Hopefully he will be too wrapped up in his intense case that he won’t have time to think about April. Or could he cause not one but two massive problems this week?
We’ll have to wait and see what happens when “It May Not Be Forever” airs tonight at 8 p.m. ET/PT on NBC. In case you missed it, here’s the promo again:
