Chicago Fire season 15 has been filming for over a month now, and the start of production has led to a wave of spoilers about the new season.

With the cast returning to set, we’ve essentially confirmed the fates of nearly every character thanks to behind-the-scenes photos from the set. The only characters whose fates remain up in the air at this point are Cruz and Pascal, two characters we’ll be saying goodbye to early in the season due to the exits of Joe Minoso and Dermot Mulroney. There have been mixed signals regarding what might come for the pair, leaving a bit of mystery over the circumstances of their exits and whether they’ll live or die.

Leaks from the set have also given us our first look at season 15’s new series regular Da’Vinchi, while also bringing confirmation that Matthew Daddario has joined the cast as a new firefighter candidate.

Needless to say, there have been a lot of exciting reveals since filming began, but there is one major plot line the show has been working extremely hard to prevent from leaking—and they’ve been doing an amazing job of that.

As fans will recall, Chicago Fire season 14 ended with Severide faced with a major decision when presented with the opportunity to take over as commander of the Chicago Fire Department's Office of Fire Investigation or accept his promotion to captain and remain at Firehouse 51. It’s a major decision and one that could have major repercussions for Severide and the entire firehouse, so fans have been understandably eager for any hint of what decision he might make.

The hope has been that, with filming beginning, a set photo would offer up a spoiler based on Taylor Kinney’s wardrobe. While Severide’s promotion to captain would see his uniform shifting regardless, the logos for the standard CFD uniform and OFI are unique in nature. As such, if a photo of Severide in his uniform leaked, it would clue fans in on which job he decided to accept and hold in the upcoming season of the show.

While there have been many leaks since filming began, the show has somehow prevented any photos of Kinney in costume as Severide from making their way online, which is allowing Chicago Fire to keep its biggest Severide secret under wraps.

We still have a long way to go before Chicago Fire season 15 premieres on October 7, so there is still time for spoilers to leak, but at this rate, it seems the creative team is doing everything it can to keep Severide’s decision under wraps, which we honestly love. Sure, we love a good spoiler, but it’s fun to have a mystery going into the season and to get to learn Severide’s decision via the actual premiere rather than from a leaked photo. Hopefully, NBC will be able to continue to keep Severide’s decision under wraps until the premiere, but stay tuned here at One Chicago Center for the latest spoilers and updates in the meantime!
