Chicago Med season 11, episode 5 brought both tricks and treats for fans. We got to see some fun costumes and Halloween-inspired decor take over the ED, which was quite a treat; however, we could have done without the cruel trick played on us by the writers.
The Halloween episode was full of some amazing storylines, which gave each member of the cast a chance to shine in some way… well, at least most of the characters. As we feared when the photos for the episode dropped, Darren Barnet did not appear in the Halloween episode, with Dr. Frost missing in action during the episode.
Where was Frost in the latest episode of Chicago Med?
Unfortunately, the writers did not give a direct explanation as to why Frost did not appear in Chicago Med season 11, episode 5. Although it was not explicitly mentioned where Frost was in the episode, fans can assume that he wasn’t on the schedule and was one of the lucky few who got the chance to enjoy a day off on Halloween.
It was definitely disappointing that Frost did not appear in the episode, as he was a standout in season 10’s Halloween episode last season. We loved his minion costume, which was certainly perfect for his younger patients, and we were looking forward to seeing what costume he would don this year. But hey, we got to see Luke Mitchell in a Tigger costume, so we can’t complain.
The good news is that Frost won’t be sidelined for too long as he’ll be back for episode 6, and it seems that the writers have quite a big episode planned for him upon his return!
Who is Frost dating? That’s the question Chicago Med’s new promo teases
While there is a lot that is going to go down in the sixth episode of Chicago Med season 11, including what could be a heartbreaking loss for one doctor, it seems the episode will balance its emotional storyline with a little bit of romantic humor as well. At the center of the storyline will be Frost, who seems to be turning up the temperature in the ED.
The promo opens with a patient getting a bit flirty with Frost having recognized him as an actor as it then transitions to paving the way for a potential One Chicago crossover love triangle mystery.
“Who’s Dr. Frost warming up to?” asks the promo, which cuts together clips of Chicago Fire’s Novak getting flirty as she tells Frost she’s off shift that evening and Dr. Naomi Howard admitting to really liking Frost to Hannah in the doctor’s lounge. It seems Frost’s feelings are mutual for at least one party, as the promo ends with Frost asking someone out to dinner, their identity kept secret.
It’s going to be fun to find out who Frost ends up asking out to dinner, and we’re so ready to see Frost get a romantic storyline! We’re rooting for Naomi as the pair has amazing chemistry. We’ve had enough hints of a budding romance, and we’d love to see the two characters finally explore their feelings. Plus, we’re tired of Naomi being a background character! She deserves to get more screen time and we’d love to see more of her and Frost together.
Plus, Chicago Fire has been casually hinting at a possible romantic storyline for Novak and Vasquez, which we’d like to see explored. That doesn’t mean we’d be opposed to Frost and Novak having a fun fling, but we imagine that’s about as far as it would go in the end. Who knows, though, we’ve seen crossover relationships work out quite well, particularly in the case of Mouch and Trudy, so maybe the writers will surprise us with the Frost and Novak pairing!
