Sophia Bush recurs in the Hulu series Love, Victor, which now has a premiere date. Get a first look at the show inspired by the film Love, Simon.

Sophia Bush‘s newest series Love, Simon will be streaming on Hulu this summer.

The former Chicago PD star has a recurring role in the romantic comedy series, which focuses on Victor (Michael Cimino) as he struggles with his sexual orientation and move to a new high school.

Bush will appear in multiple episodes playing Veronica, who comes into the story through Victor’s friend Mia (Rachel Naomi Hilson); Veronica is dating Mia’s father.

Love, Victor is a half-hour series set in the same world as Love, Simon, which in turn was based upon Becky Albertalli’s novel Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda.

Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger, who adapted the book into the movie, are the creators of the spinoff series—which was originally meant for Disney+ before being reassigned to Hulu (Disney owns both streaming services).

Hulu will premiere the series on June 19, which is during LGBTQ Pride Month. It also means that Sophia Bush fans will be able to watch her newest role during the summer, while waiting to find out when Chicago PD is going to return.

Very few details have been released about her character other than that Veronica is in charge of a female-oriented non-profit organization, so it’s anyone’s guess how she fits into the plot. But with Bush being billed as recurring, she’ll have at least a decent role in the season.

And it will be the first time since her stint in the One Chicago universe that the actress has had more than a guest spot someplace; she’s guest-starred on This Is Us, Jane the Virgin and Alex, Inc. but only for single episodes.

She is also the lead of the CBS pilot Good Sam, but with pilot season at a standstill because of the coronavirus pandemic, this may be the only project we see her in for a while. That’s all the more reason for Chicago fans to get a Hulu subscription this summer and check out Love, Victor when it launches.

Hulu has also released a sneak peek clip from the series; Sophia Bush doesn’t appear in it, but it can be watched below for anyone who wants to get an idea of what the show will be like and its sense of humor. It’s definitely going to show the lighter side of Sophia!
