Tracy Spiridakos posts set photo on Instagram ahead of S11 exit

We're not ready to say goodbye! You wouldn't know it from the last handful of episodes, but Hailey Upton (Tracy Spiridakos) is getting ready to leave Chicago PD. The character will be written off the show before the end of the season 11, with all signs pointing to it happening during the finale.

Tracy Spiridakos hasn't said much regarding her decision, but she has made a point of posting pics and behind-the-scenes videos from the PD set on her Instagram every week.

The actress kept her streak intact on April 3 by posting a pic of her and co-star Benjamin Levy Aguilar with a caption that read:

"We are here to tell you that there’s a new episode of Chicago PD tonight, and that you don’t want to miss it! "

The decision to pose with Aguilar was a cagey one, given that his character, Dante Torres, was the focus of the episode "Somos Unos." The character's decision to strike up a romance with one of his informants proved a dangerous one, and nearly resulted in him being fired. Fortunately, he maintained his status within the IU, which is especially important since Upton is on her way out.

Spiridakos will leave during the season 11 finale

Upton and Torres haven't had a ton of screen time together since the latter joined the show in season 10, but they are linked by a common character: Jay Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer). It was Halstead who brought Torres into the mix and served as his mentor early on. Torres effectively filled Halstead's role when he decided to quit the IU and leave the country.

Halstead's connection to Upton is much more obvious and much more complicated. The duo went from partners to friends to lovers to spouses (!) during their time together, but things ultimately ended in divorce (as evidenced by the papers in the season 11 premiere).

Jesse Lee Soffer is still in the mix as a PD director, and is dating Spiridakos in real life, but the chances of seeing his character come back before the end of the season are slim to none. It'll be Upton embarking on the next chapter of her life, alone.
